WHAT IS YUNGA

YUNGA (Youth and United Nations Global Alliance) was established in 2009 as a partnership between United Nations agencies, civil society organizations, and other entities that work for and with children and youth. It is an organization under the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) that leads international efforts to resolve hunger and achieve food safety. YUNGA acts as a gateway for children and youth to participate in activities and initiatives of the UN, and it aims to engage young people in key activities of environmental and social concern at both national and international levels.
Currently, this activity has been spread to 23 countries / regions all over the world including Japan.

YUNGA Japan was established on September 21, 2019 in Awaji Island, Hyogo Prefecture, as an official Japanese branch that plays a role in spreading YUNGA activities in Japan.

The Awaji Youth Federation (AYF), a global leadership program hosted by Pasona Group, Inc., is the operating body.

In AYF, youth with diverse skills and backgrounds from all over the world participate in this fellowship program with the aim of "solving social problems" and working on regional revitalization on Awaji Island.

YUNGA Japan provides an international experience under the management of AYF. Here youth can learn about diversity and gain knowledge about global issues from the perspective of people around the world. We not only support Japanese youth to create positive impacts, but also encourage them to cooperate with people from all over the world for the realization of a better world.
